Career academies are an effort to provide high school students nontraditional curriculum that can prepare them for both college and careers. Studies have found that career academy students do better in high school and are more likely to pursue a college education when compared with other students in the same schools. PRSA supports the communications function that is part of most career academies in order to ensure that public relations is promoted along with other studies in communication. The National Capital Chapter is currently looking for a school in the DC area to have a career academy.
