This  panel discussion at the National Press Club will explore a range of crisis communications issues . From personal security dangers to global issues of trade in dangerous products, our panel of experts will shed insight into some of the complex challenges facing today's PR professionals.

Confirmed speakers include:

Scott Sobel, president and cofounder of Media & Communications Strategies
Scott has an extensive background in national and international
crisis, litigation, government, corporate and news media
communications. He is an award-winning former journalist at the major
market and network levels with a shelf full of EMMY's, Sigma Delta Chi,
AP and regional journalism awards.
Tom Carver, CLS & Associates
Tom has provided risk management solutions for some of America’s
largest multinational corporations, financial institutions and
non-profit organisations. These range from brand integrity programs,
political risk briefings to senior management, design of long range
capital risk assessments, due diligence in M&A situations and crisis
communications.

Jackie Geissinger, senior manager, crisis management consulting, Control Risks
Jackie Geissinger is responsible for developing and implementing crisis management programs for Control Risks’ clients in North America.  Her areas of expertise include evaluation of client risk exposure and designing enterprise risk management solutions, pre-incident crisis management planning and training, pandemic preparedness and response planning, and development of corporate security policies and procedures

Christy Stravolo, president, Stravolo Media Services

While  stationed at the Pentagon, Christy managed the Air Force's media training
program, coaching CEO-level spokespeople throughout the Department of Defense. She pitched Air Force stories to national media and secured substantial positive  coverage on major news programs including NBC Nightly News, ABC's Good Morning America, CNN's American Morning and FOX & Friends. She also advised executive leadership on public relations policy and developed strategic communications  strategies for crisis situations. Christy continues to work as a public relations officer in the Air Force Reserve.

As a news reporter, Christy interviewed thousands of people from all walks of life on topics including politics,  business, medicine, education and law. She worked on-air at radio and TV stations in New York, Georgia and North Carolina.  Christy has a B.A. in Journalism from the University of South Carolina

The cost of the event is $35 for PRSA members; $40 for non-members, $25
for students and retirees.  Non-registered attendees will pay an additional $5 at the door.
