SLICK AUTHOR TO ADDRESS LUNCHEON
WASHINGTON, Nov. 22 -- Due to an “insanely busy schedule” since releasing his first novel, Dan Price has had to curtail work on his website Abused by the News, which analyzes the mainstream press. However, as a holiday treat, the National Capitol Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA-NCC) has arranged for Price to address its Annual Holiday Awards Luncheon Wednesday, Dec. 8.
Price is a writer and media critic living in Los Angeles, who has also appeared on numerous radio shows. His debut novel, Slick, is a comedic tale of PR and media manipulation, and in the new year, Price will also begin teaching a crash course in disinformation at the Los Angeles Center for Inquiry.
“Our annual holiday awards luncheon is a time to honor the best PR practitioners in the Washington area, our Chapter volunteers,” said Pam Miles, PRSA-NCC president. “We also wanted to make the event an entertaining treat. Price’s humorous insight into publicity and the media will amuse the often competing sides of the field.”
The PRSA-NCC luncheon begins with a networking opportunity at 11:30 a.m. The program and lunch are scheduled from 12-2 p.m. at the Ronald Reagan Building (1300 Pennsylvania Ave., NW). Cost is $45 for PRSA Members and $60 for non-members.
