National Capital Chapter Elects 2005 Officers

 PRSA NATIONAL CAPITAL CHAPTER ANNOUNCES 2005 EXECUTIVE OFFICERS AND BOARD OF DIRECTORS

WASHINGTON, Dec. 16, 2004 – The Public Relations Society of America National Capital Chapter (PRSA-NCC) has elected its 2005 officers, board of directors and assembly delegates. The officers will lead the upcoming year’s programs for the chapter’s more than 1,100 members.  The mission of the chapter is to provide its members professional development opportunities, awards programs, and leadership and networking opportunities, as well as foster professional standards for the ethical practice of PR.

“As PRSA’s largest chapter, the National Capital Chapter offers area practitioners an opportunity to exchange ideas and network with nation’s leading PR professionals,” said Bob Bryant, APR, who was elected president and is chief of command information for Defense Information Systems Agency. “It’s an honor to lead this group and build upon more than 50 years of success. I look forward to the opportunities ahead of us.”

Bryant is joined by 12 new members of the board of directors.  The executive officers of the board are:

·        Tracy Schario, NCC president-elect and director of media relations for The George Washington University

·        Sandra Wills Hannon, Ph.D., APR, NCC vice president and principal of The Hannon Group

·        Reggie Kouba, NCC vice president and operations vice president of The SheaHedges Group

·        Erich Parker, APR, NCC vice president and principal of Erich Parker and Associates

·        Sean O’Neill, APR, NCC treasurer and principal of Symmetrix Public Relations

·        Christina Rubalcaba Swanwick, NCC secretary and senior account manager for PRNewswire

·        Pam Miles, NCC immediate past president and principal of Miles Communications

The National Capital Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America is the largest PRSA chapter in the country, with more than 1,100 members.  The NCC represents public relations professionals from the major business sectors in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area, including associations, agencies, corporations, universities, non-profits, government and independent practitioners.
