The
public relations community in the areas affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita need your help. Please read on, and take
action.
On the home page of our Web site, PRSA has created a Hurricane Relief Resource Center. There, a
message board has been established where you can offer assistance or, if you're
in an affected area, you can post the type of support you need.

or http://www.prsa.org/
The Need To date, members have requested
things like:
- Housing
- Office space
- Telecommunications and
administrative support (routing calls, managing mail, etc.)
- Client services (media
relations and employee communications support, etc.)
There's also a need for
industry-and-discipline-specific
expertise (environmental, employee communications, health care,
hospitality, media relations, etc.). Our colleagues are in need of counsel and,
possibly, support on the ground.
How
It Will Work After you post on the PRSA Web site the type of
assistance you can provide (or the type of support you need), all information
will be gathered and you will be contacted regarding next steps.
Next
week, PRSA will provide to leaders within Chapters, Districts and Sections a
"Hurricane Relief Tool Kit" to
further drive the request for support
throughout the Society.

Please,
forward this e-mail to other public relations professionals who can help and/or
call your contacts and get their support (inside and outside of
PRSA).
Our hurricane relief efforts are a marathon, not a sprint. We will
continue to reach out to members to learn their needs, and ask the PRSA family
for support.
Many thanks for all you've done so far. We've heard stories
from across the nation of members helping members, but more people need your help. Many of our colleagues have lost
their homes and their businesses. Let's help them find their
future.
Together WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
Thank
you.
