Pitfalls in International Public
Relations: Lessons Learned Around the World
WASHINGTON, D.C. May 22,
2007 – The International Committee of the Public Relations Society of America
(National Capital Chapter) invites you to a panel discussion on message
development and branding on Wednesday, May 23 at the National Press Club.
Learn from experts how to be more effective in
crafting messages and developing communications/PR strategies that will
resonate with international audiences. Our panel of specialists will
illustrate the importance of cross-cultural awareness and its role in
creating communications strategies and will highlight factors to consider
in approaching multi-national audiences.
Our panel of speakers includes: Ms. Sirin
Koprucu, President of Strategic Straits Inc., who will explore elements of
cultures that impact the development of PR strategies; Ms. Roqueña Domingo, Vice President of International Affairs
with Edelman, who specializes in cross-cultural PR issues; Mr. Moncef Bouhafa, President of the Center for Development
Communications, supporting communications initiatives around the world; and Ms. Gemma Puglisi, Assistant
Professor, School of Communications at American University
The National Press Club is located at 529 14th Street NW, Washington D.C.
20045. The program will include a cash bar reception from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m.,
and the panel discussion itself will run from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. The National
Press Club is one block from Metro
Center.
The cost of the event is $35 for PRSA members; $40 for non-members; $25 for
students and retirees. Working press may attend the event at no charge.
Non-registered attendees will pay an additional $5 at the door. You may
