Investigative journalist Bob Woodward to address
PRSA Thoth Awards recognize the best and brightest in public
relations; PRSA honors those “On the Front Line” with video tribute

A) Half-Day “Excelllence in PR” Seminar (2-6 p.m.) to
feature keynote speaker Bob Woodward, assistant managing editor for The
Washington Post and the Washington PR Roundtable, of local communication leaders
who will examine the unique nature of public relations in Washington, along with
the local challenges and opportunities. The panel will be moderated by Elizabeth
Howard. Panelists to include: Alisa Fogelman Beyer, APR, Managing Director, Hill
& Knowlton Darren Irby, Vice President, American Red Cross Paul Hanley,
Director of Strategic Communication, Joint Chiefs of Staff Joann Killeen, APR,
Fellow PRSA, President of PRSA John Clemons, APR, ABC, Communications Consultant
Charlene Wheeless, Senior VP Corporate Communication, American Management
Systems
B) Evening “Thoth Awards” (6-9 p.m.) will recognize the
premier PR programs in the DC market and will feature On the Front Line: PR in
the Nation’s Capital, a special video tribute to be introduced by the journalist
selected by NCC members as one truly “on the front line” of broadcast news.

Chapter (NCC) is the nation’s largest PRSA chapter, representing professionals
from the major business sectors in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area,
including associations, agencies, corporations, universities, non-profits,

pronounced “Tot” and named for the Egyptian god of information and
communication, recognizes excellence in PR and communications programs in the
