MAJOR LEAGUE PUBLIC RELATIONS: Bringing Baseball to Washington
WASHINGTON, D.C., July 15, 2003 – The bases are loaded and area pr/marketing teams are hoping for a grand slam in their efforts to bring professional baseball home to the Washington, DC area once again. The Public Relations Society of America National Capital Chapter (PRSA-NCC) will host a panel discussion offering an inside perspective into the public relations and marketing challenges and approaches being used to attract a major league baseball club to the Washington area at a luncheon on Wednesday, July 23, 2003.
Bob Peck of the Greater Washington Board of Trade will moderate the panel discussion. Panelists include Chris Dunlavey, Brailsford & Dunlavey; Winston Lord, Washington Baseball Club; Brian Hannigan, Virginia Baseball Stadium Authority.
The program will take place on the campus of The Society of American Foresters, 5400 Grosvenor Lane, Bethesda, Maryland (close to Grosvenor Metro Station). In celebration of the food of baseball, the luncheon menu will include (but not be limited to) hot dogs, soft pretzels, popcorn and peanuts. Registration/networking begins at 11:45 a.m., lunch at 12:15 p.m., and the program is scheduled for 12:45 – 1:45 p.m.
