Today, odds are that the first thing done when information is needed is an Internet search.  This makes it critical that your organization achieve a top ranking in search engine results.  In fact, it can be more significant to have a press release from your organization appear with a high search engine ranking than as a news item in a major newspaper.

In this session, you will learn why search is important and the role it plays in public relations from a panel of pioneers in the area of Search Engine Optimization (SEO)  -- Melanie Mitchell,  AOL's Vice President of SEO and Search Engine Marketing (http://www.aol.com); Greg Jarboe, President and Co-founder of SEO-PR (http://www.seo-pr.com), and Nan Dawkins, Co-founder of RedBoots Consulting (http://www.redboots.com).

From this workshop, you will get the beginning tools and knowledge you need to help you lead your organization's public relations efforts in the area of SEO for your web site and press releases.  You will also learn about the role blogs, other social media, the social media release and social media optimization can play in your efforts to improve your organization's search engine results.

You will get a better understanding and some tips on how to identify strong, powerful keyword search terms and how to use them and other tools and tactics to improve your organization's visibility on the web.
