Purpose

Nonprofits, associations and other tax-exempt organizations face unique challenges. This is your opportunity to connect with practitioners who understand your issues and are willing to share solutions. This National Capitol Chapter Committee is dedicated to helping PR and communications professionals as they work to raise funds, recruit volunteers and promote their activities.

What We Do

This committee provides opportunities for PR practitioners to advance their skills through professional development opportunities, learn about the issues affecting the association industry, network with others in the nonprofit arena and share best practices.

Who We Are Looking For

We welcome new committee members who want to:

  • Network with other nonprofit/association professionals
  • Plan and organize professional development opportunities to advance the skills of association PR and communication professionals
  • Participate in programs for PR professionals in the nonprofit arena
  • Obtain leadership and management skills that will assist you in your career

Committee responsibilities include:

  • Help plan one of two annual events
  • Share creative ideas with other committee members
  • Attend events and help with check-in at events
  • Assist in advertising and promoting events
  • Please note: this committee requires a commitment of less than 10 hours per year
