Culture Shock: Engaging Diverse Audiences at the Global and Local Levels

presented by the PRSA-NCC International Committee
February 15, 2017 -
8:00am to 9:30am

Today, divisions across national borders have faded thanks to the internet as well as relatively easy and inexpensive access to international travel. At the same time, communities within nations are becoming more culturally, ethnically, and demographically diverse.

As communicators, how do we take into account cultural, social, economic, and political concerns to reach diverse audiences, whether they are in a foreign country or our own city? Join us for a breakfast discussion featuring experts from Washington’s diplomatic community and a 2016 Silver Anvil and Thoth Award winner for “Multicultural Public Relations.”

Panelists include:

James Barbour
Spokesperson and Head of Press and Public Diplomacy, Delegation of the European Union to the United States

Sandra Wills Hannon, APR
Founder, The Hannon Group, LLC
2016 National PRSA Silver Anvill Excellence and National Capital ChapterThoth Award winner for “Multicultural Public Relations: Promoting Health Insurance Enrollment to African-American Communities in Maryland”
