WASHINGTON, D.C. (July 8, 2019) — The Public Relations Society of America’s National Capital Chapter (PRSA-NCC) has extended the final deadline for the 2019 Thoth Awards until July 11 at 5 pm. Winners will be announced at PRSA-NCC’s Thoth Awards Luncheon on Sept. 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the National Press Club.
Named for the Egyptian god of communication, the Thoth (pronounced “tot”) Awards recognize the outstanding strategic public relations programs and components developed and produced in the greater Washington, D.C. area.
New this year is special pricing for first-time PRSA-NCC and IPRA members submitting for the awards. There are 30 categories including best agency, government, corporation and non-profit.
“We extended the deadline, so the communication professionals had the opportunity to finalize their entries and showcase the exceptional creativity and expertise in the Washington, D.C. area,” said PRSA-NCC Past President and co-chair of the Thoth Awards, Sabrina Kidwai.
During the Thoth Awards Luncheon, PRSA-NCC will also recognize its 2019 National Capital Public Relations Hall of Fame award winners, who are professionals in the industry with more than 30 years of experience. These individuals are recognized for their distinguished accomplishments, visionary leadership, contributions to the profession through industry member associations, board leadership, and mentoring and developing others. They also need to have shown a commitment of time and talent with their local public relations community with an intent to inspire the next generation of public relations professionals to excel. Nominations for the Hall of Fame Award are due by midnight on July 26.
