PRSA-NCC Launches New Website Design to Showcase Value, Events of Chapter

Washington, D.C., March 30, 2012 –The Public Relations Society of America National Capital Chapter (PRSA-NCC) unveils its completely redesigned website design today – www.prsa-ncc.org -- that highlights the activities, events, members, professional development, and news of the country’s largest PRSA chapter. The new site reflects the diverse membership of NCC and has several new features including: member spotlight on the front page, connecting and sharing stories through social media, public relations industry news from PRSA national, increased visibility of the chapter blog, and giving members the ability to submit news that appears in a “News & Community” section.

PRSA-NCC started planning for the redesign process in March 2011, and the chapter wanted to upgrade the website’s platform and its contact relationship manager, create the chapter’s brand online, write content that educates, inspires and serves its members, provides easier navigation, and engages its members. The development of the new website was led by NCC’s Website Committee co-chairs Sabrina Kidwai, PRSA-NCC board member, and Robert Udowitz, vice president of PRSA-NCC.

“Given the business we are in, we know the importance of an appealing and informative website to relay an organization's brand. Our team worked hard to update the Chapter brand through the look, feel and user experience of our site," said PRSA-NCC president Suzanne Holroyd, PhD, APR+M. “The new site offers detail on our wide variety of events, highlights individual chapter members, provides a clear picture of how to get involved, and offers opportunities to interact through social media. We fully expect this new website to become a key resource for the public relations community in the DC area.” The co-chairs assembled a committee reflecting the chapter membership. Chapter member Jill Kurtz donated a great deal of time from her firm, Balance Interactive, to develop the new site.
